Making kohl-eyes her weapon, pearl collar her Armour, Padukone was as much the Sari, as much the Sari was her.

Deepika Padukone has always been a Fashion Maven. Be it a Regal Sabyasachi Muse, or channeling a Badass Antagonist in a Dundas Couture, she has never shied away from experimenting, and often weaves elaborate tales with the attires she puts on, each more iconic than the previous. It wasn’t then an anomaly when Padukone served a distinguished narrative with her final look at the Cannes 2022.

Converging minimal and regal to a similar spectrum, a Sari became an obvious ensemble for her. What made it even monumental is the fact that she was amongst the Jury Members of the prestigious Film Festival this year, and what better way to herald Indian Fashion on a Global Platform than draping six feet of opulent grace.

A strapless beaded blouse, along with an Ivory white Sari, with ruffles, seamless as a river flow wrapped around the actor. In an Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla head to toe, the actor was an opulence sight to behold when she walked the stage and did the ‘Namaste’ gesture, paying homage to her roots.

Embedding “Colossal Ness” to the entire ensemble, however, was the ethereal Pearl Collar that the actress wore, which appeared straight out of a timeless museum. The pearls concealed her collarbones and adjoined from the back, leaving an inverted V.

Buns have been an omnipresent sight on Deepika, and she donned them, here as well. Minimal studs were an offset to ensure the spotlight stayed on Pearl Embeds.

Making kohl-eyes her weapon, pearl collar her Armour, Padukone was as much the Sari, as much the Sari was her.
